1947 Roamer Pant 17oz indigo

1947 Roamer Pant - designed for a life in the saddle. The 1947 Roamer Pant is a classic representative for a denim pant of the late 1940s. The special feature of the pant is the higher waistband in the back and the wider thighs. This creates a very comfortable fit that provides optimal freedom of movement. The hem of the pants is tapered, which goes well with boots and also sneakers.

The 1940s brought a lot of change to the fit of work pants. Originally, denim pants were meant to be overtrousers and were cut accordingly wide. However, that changed radically with World War II and the material savings that came with it. Pants were produced narrower and more suitable. After the war, the trend remained with narrower fits and more specific fit were developed for different occupations. The 1947 Roamer Pant is a typical example of this development. Actually a work pant but with slight changes in the fit to make it more suitable for cowboys.

The 1947 Roamer Pant 17oz indigo is made of a 17 ounce selvage denim. The denim is produced exclusively for us using an old recipe in Turkey on old shuttle looms.  As a special detail, we added a ruler pocket on the right thigh made of Wabash Selvage Denim. This is large enough to hold modern smartphones.

The 1947 Roamer Pant 17oz indigo has all the details you would expect from our vintage denims like the small pocket for the pocket watch. The D-ring and the heavy stitching.

The following details characterize our 1947 Roamer Pant 17oz indigo:
- 17oz Selvage Denim made from 100% cotton, woven exclusively for us on old shuttle looms in Turkey.
- Comfort Fit, High Back Rise
- Tapered Leg
- Ruler Pocket made of Wabash Denim, big enough for modern Smartphones
- Made in Turkey

How we measure...

If you ever asked yourself how to determine your personal size on our PikeBrothers-products here comes the answer.
In the following pictures and video we will show you how you can measure exactly. The best way is to use a well fitting piece of garment that you already own.

Note for pants:

Measurements provided are of the product when laid flat, not as worn on a body.
WAIST: We measure the waist with the fly buttoned, spread flat on a surface, and given a light stretch tp remove any wrinkles and give a natural waist reading. The waist is then measured straight across the top of the waistband.
FRONT RISE: With the fly buttoned, we measure starting from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband following the fly, giving the front rise a slight pull to remove wrinkles and give a natural measurement.
BACK RISE: Measuring from the same point as the front rise, we measure from the crotch seam to the back waistband, following the rear seam on the seat.
HEM: The hem is measured in the same manner, laying flat on a surface and measurements taken from the external sem to internal seam at the leg opening.
