The 1945 Tanker Boots were introduced in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. Since tank crews did not have to march so much, the U.S. Army was looking for a quick lacing system for boots that offered enough support. Over time, the special lacing system became established and is still in use today.
For our 1945 Tanker Boots we used the same lacing as well as the typical toe cap and the cork/rubber compound for the soles. As in the old days, the boots are goodyear welted for more durability and easy re-soleability.
The following details characterize our 1945 Tanker Boots:
- 100% cowhide leather
- Goodyear welt
- Quick lacing system
- Toe cap
- commando sole with rubber/cork compound
- Made in Portugal
