The 1943 U.S. Navy CPO Shirt – A classic shirt for the outdoors
Life on deck can be rough sometimes. Therefore deck wear had to meet special needs. Over the decades certain materials and fits have evolved in the seafaring. One piece of garment that has evolved is the CPO Shirt of the U.S. Navy. The roomy construction together with two large chest pockets meet every petty officers needs on deck. Originally developed in the 1930s it is still in service today with some slight changes. For our version we have used the old pattern from 1940.
Originally made of a heavy wool blend we have made it now of flannel.

Note for tops:
Measurements provided are of the product when laid flat, not as worn on a body.
CHEST / PIT TO PIT: Measured across the chest from armpit seam to seam directly below sleeve seams at the armpit.
SHOULDER: Taken across the back and measured from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.
SLEEVE: Following the natural curve of the sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff.
BACK LENGTH: Measured from the seam at the base ofthe collar to the bottom hem of the top.
